CHC is the largest independent not-for-profit community housing provider in the ACT. CHC is a member of the Real Estate Institute (ACT) and has over twenty years’ experience in providing quality affordable housing, having self-funded a rental subsidy of over $38 million since inception, including $3.4 million in the last financial year. CHC provides a home today to 1300 Canberrans in 466 homes owned and rented at below market rates. We deliver homes for the community in various locations across Canberra and are continuously seeking to grow our impact through increasing our volume of affordable rental properties under management.

About the role
CHC is seeking a highly motivated and organised person to provide a high level of customer service through managing our application and allocation processes.
To be successful in this role you will need to be confident working with applicants that are applying for CHC properties. The role is fast paced, requires strong organisation and communication skills, and requires a person who is comfortable in sometimes challenging situations. Ideally the right candidate would have some experience within the real estate or human services sectors.
As a member of a small team, you will undertake various tasks required to ensure efficient and effective portfolio management and an outstanding level of service to our tenants. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Management of a tenancy portfolio
- Advertising vacant properties.
- Ingoing and outgoing inspections.
- Building successful relationships with tenants to support the maintenance of a successful tenancy.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with our in-house Assets team.
- Entry rent eligibility calculations.
- Maintain snug platform.
- Lease paperwork.
- Provide additional support to Tenancy team as required.

CHC Offering
As a Tenancy Officer (CHC 3), you will be covered by the CHC Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2025 and entitled to a salary commencing at $76,027.00 pa, plus 11.5% Superannuation per annum.

Please note: All positions within CHC are subject to probity checks that could include a Police Records Check and/or a Working with Vulnerable People and Working with Children check.
It is also a requirement that all CHC staff hold a current unrestricted Driver’s licence.
