CHC develop properties for sale in Canberra. While our organisation is not-for profit and for-purpose, the profits we derive from the development arm of our business are used to develop new and innovative housing programs which deliver housing opportunities for everyone in the community.
Each development is unique in its offering and varies in planning and design, the outcomes we aim to achieve and price point. Our properties benefit Canberra through making housing opportunities more attainable, delivering complex community projects and nurturing the environments we develop.
A proportion of our properties are sold under the ACT Government’s Land Rent Scheme while others are sold directly to the market as off-the-plan apartments, townhouses and houses. While some of our properties do require income thresholds to be met, this is not a requirement for all properties.
CHC works in partnership with the ACT Government to deliver a proportion of our properties under the Land Rent Scheme. The Land Rent Scheme is an ACT Government initiative which reduces the up-front costs involved in purchasing a home. The scheme allows eligible first home buyers the opportunity to acquire land under a rental arrangement, rather than obtaining a mortgage.
While CHC is independent of the Government, we commit to offering quality properties, exclusively under the Land Rent Scheme. Via this arrangement, if you meet eligibility requirements, you can purchase a home from CHC and the land which it occupies can be ‘rented’ from the government.
